Veneers & Lumineers
A white porcelain veneer is a very thin layer of porcelain individually made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, in the same way that a false finger nail fits over a nail. Each veneer matches the size and shape of the specific tooth that it is covering, and is held in place by a strong bonding agent. Little preparation of the tooth is required.
Veneers conceal surface-imperfections in the tooth enamel, and can be used to improve the colour, shape and position of teeth. A precise shade of porcelain can be selected to remedy a single discoloured or stained tooth, or to generally lighten the front teeth, especially the upper ones.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and they can be used to close small gaps when orthodontic treatment (braces) is not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the other teeth.
Veneers
Discoloured, chipped or cracked teeth can benefit from a veneer. A thin layer of the tooth surface is shaved off. A veneer is made to fit perfectly, protecting the tooth underneath.
Lumineers
In addition to the regular veneers, we are also certified to provide Lumineers . These Lumineers are made from special patented porcelain which is much thinner than that used for normal veneers. Lumineers are comparable to the thickness of a contact lens; consequently, very little, if any, of the natural tooth structure needs to be removed prior to fitting them.
